Advisory & Education

At the centre of everything here, the sanctuary and the research, is one belief: relationship is core to an animal's care, not incidental to it.

A rescued, permanently captive animal's quality of life, and their ability not just to survive but to thrive, is shaped by every relationship around them: the person who feeds them, the vet who treats them, the keeper who learns to read their particular moods, and sometimes, the one human they've come to see as kin. Within those roles, advocate, guardian, nurse, physiotherapist, the individual matters as much as the category they belong to.

I offer advisory support and CPD-style education for sanctuaries, rehabilitators, and organisations caring for rescued, permanently captive, non-domesticated animals, drawing on my PhD research and years of hands-on practice at Nala's Nook. I'm also open to research collaborations with organisations interested in exploring these questions further.

This side of my work is still developing. If any of this resonates with your own practice, I'd welcome hearing from you.
